What we're looking for

As Program Manager (PgM) for the Destination Canada Analytics Platform, your top priority is act as the point person responsible for achieving the mandates of the project, keeping the goals and vision for the strategic outcomes of the platform in mind, while coordinating between Destination Canada, Noise and other strategic partners throughout the duration of the project.  

The Program Manager owns the relationship between Destination Canada, Noise Digital, contracted vendors (i.e., Google, Verb, etc.), and industry partners (Stats Can, ISED, DMOs, PMOs, etc.), working closely with key points of contact to ensure that the strategic vision, program governance, dependencies and agreements are executed upon on schedule and budget.  

The Program Manager delivers value to the project through consistent service execution, excellent standards and ensuring all outputs meet defined business goals.

What you'll do

Accounts / Client Relationship

  • Acts as the key point of contact between Destination Canada (project sponsor) and Noise Digital (strategy & technical program implementation), vendors and industry partners, maintaining a strong understanding of the project success measures and business value realised.
  • Accountable to executive project sponsors (Destination Canada), coordinates and attends required meetings (remote or in person, as defined by the project sponsor)
  • Maintains and builds project sponsor and partner relationships, establishing trust and respect.
  • Documents all project sponsor, vendor and partner interactions and records all information required to manage relationships.
  • Facilitates change management process, ensuring prioritization and grooming of backlog items. Gains consensus and buy-in from all project stakeholders prior to changes, documenting and communicating across all teams.
  • Escalates roadblocks and impediments, managing risk and flagging dependencies in a clear and timely manner.

Technical Program Management

  • Assists in the development and facilitates stakeholder approval of project documents – Project Charter, SLAs, Business Partnership Agreements and additional agreements, as needed.
  • Defines, plans and adjusts the overall Destination Canada portfolio roadmap (including all project dependencies with potential to impact the DC Analytics Platform project), ensuring continuous delivery of business value, stakeholder priorities and project requirements.
  • Attends internal project team meetings (daily stand ups, weekly client status meetings, deliverables-focused internal team connects), driving project decisions based on strategic and business benefits.
  • Reviews component project plans for conformance to project vision, benefits, project plan and schedule.
  • Clearly and confidently disseminates relevant information and direction from Destination Canada, partners and vendors; ensure Project Team is equipped with up-to-date direction, knowledge and next steps.

Collaboration with Noise Project Manager  

  • Disseminates project sponsor direction, requirements and next steps to Noise Digital Project Manager in a clear and timely manner; Noise Project Manager to translate technical requirements into Project Management system (Trello, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Review component project plans for conformance to project vision, benefits, plan and schedule.
  • Performs risk analysis, develops contingency plans and gathers data from project sponsor, vendors and partners, works with PM to proactively raise task prioritization and resourcing decisions amongst the Project Team.
  • Presents work to project sponsor throughout the delivery process, ensuring articulation of rationale and strategy against the goals set out.
  • Champions the quality and accuracy of all agency outputs to project sponsor by reviewing and auditing major client deliverables, checking for brand consistency and overall quality.

What you'll need to bring

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Program Manager in a professional marketing, advertising, and/or digital agency.
  • Ability to apply a systems-thinking and value-based approach to problem solving and program delivery
  • Intermediate understanding of the digital media landscape (Cloud, Digital Media & Advertising Platforms, Tagging, Data Visualization).
  • Previous experience working within a large-scale Agile product delivery environment involving multiple vendors, stakeholders and agile teams.
  • PMP or Scrum Master certification is preferred  
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a relevant field (business, communications, marketing, psychology, etc.).
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects/deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • A skilled change agent comfortable working in an uncertain environment where all the details are not always available
  • Intermediate knowledge of media specific terminology and digital metrics, corresponding data, and their implication on planning efforts.  
  • Ability to comprehend financial documentation, including the ability to understand budgets and forecasts within the context of client projects and campaigns.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective and cooperative relationships with a wide array of personalities and team members. Displays conscientiousness and service towards others.
  • Gives and receives feedback in a constructive manner.
  • Intermediate computer and digital literacy skills (Microsoft Windows / Apple OSX, Microsoft Office, Internet/Web, Social Media).
  • Intermediate presentation skills - comfortable participating in and occasionally leading client and media meetings.
